Self-portrait

We started the year with a portrait project in which students were able to collaborate across classrooms. After meeting the second grade teaching team students joined an art style group and got to become experts after making observations and discussing what makes a portrait painting either realistic, abstract or pop art. Throughout this project students explore the way we associate color with feelings in order to make purposeful decisions when creating their own piece of art. Students will use critique and will help each other with feedback to create beautiful masterpieces.
